farm animal sFarm Animal Day at the Saugerties Farmers Market will be Saturday, Aug. 30  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come to the petting zoo and watch tortoises meander and hold chicks, bunnies, ducks and hedgehogs. See the fainting goat, miniature horse, donkey and llama. Pony rides start at 11 a.m. Art Lab will provide materials and instructions to make egg carton art, and Anita Barbour will help children create their own origami pieces. Summer fruits and vegetables are at their peak. Mangia Bene Farm offers a variety of pasture-raised meats (many fresh, not frozen this week) including pork, beef, poultry and lamb along with smoked chicken, duck and chicken sausage. Enjoy coffee and baked goods (gluten-free options) at cafe seating with umbrellas. The market is at 115 Main St., across from Cahill Elementary School.
