In honor of a recent Town of Lloyd resolution to make the month of August Senior Citizens’ Month, the town hosted a free breakfast this past Monday for all seniors at the Tony Williams Field. ”It was great,” said supervisor Paul Hansut, who attended the event. “We had 100 seniors show up, and everybody really enjoyed it. The weather was great, and it was nice to see people talking, having fun, seeing friends they hadn’t seen in a while and seeing a lot of new faces of seniors who have recently moved to our town.”

The event was hosted by the Town’s Events Committee, chaired by Kate Jonietz, along with members of the Town Hall staff. The supervisor noted that the committee had received donations from Dunkin’ Donuts, Hannaford’s, the Hard Roll Deli and McDonald’s, with tents provided free of charge by Milton True Value.

“When I ran for office, one of the things I wanted to do was to make sure we had more events for seniors, more programs, as they are the backbone of our community,” said the supervisor.
