With some soggy weather predicted this evening, one might ask if New Paltz is really having fireworks tonight. The answer is “yes,” fireworks organizers said.
Despite some calls for rain tonight, the show will go on, according to fireworks committee Chairman Josh Honig.
New Paltz celebrates Independence Day out at the Ulster County Fairgrounds at 249 Libertyville Rd. Gates for the event open at 5 p.m. tonight. This evening’s entertainment will include performances from the bands Dog on Fleas, The Dylan Emmet Band, and Lindsey Webster & The Big Ass Band.
Fireworks will start once it’s dark at approximately 9:45 p.m.
