Three New Paltz residents — Elizabeth Pomeroy (11), Catherine Pomeroy (13) and Clara Pierson (11) — put their passion for helping animals to work by collecting donations for the Kingston SPCA last Friday at Stop-n-Shop in New Paltz. The Pomeroy sisters, who often visit the Kingston SPCA just to spend time with the animals, spent hours making signs, supply lists and donation cans for their fundraising. Elizabeth, who spent years collecting Webkins stuffed animals, donated her collection, offering them as incentive for patrons to donate. The girls collected $202, in addition to food and supplies that went directly to the UCSPCA that day.

“I just want to say thank you to all who donated,” said Elizabeth. “We had lots of fun doing something that helps animals.

“Animals are often forgotten when times are financially tough and I just wanted to say thank you for all the support we received, added Catherine.
